The US's Loss of Security Guarantor in the Middle East
The US is basically telling its friends in the Middle East that they're mostly going to be on their own. We didn't do it overnight. I think most of these countries saw it coming for like the last 15 years as the US got tired of various wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, elsewhere. Like the Saudis, they have multiple strategies they can engage in. One of them is doing more on their own without relying on the US. The other is either bandwagning or seeking other allies, whether that's China, right? Or bandwagting with the Iranian threat.
