Simone: I think this is a great exhibit, like exhibit A of that I make my best work when I'm happy because looking back at the things that I made when I was profoundly sad and it's just bad. And for me, it comes from feeling really good and being excited and yeah, and when I'm sad, the stuff that comes out is kind of poop. She says she has also made inventions that are about working through tougher feelings. "When you go through radiation treatment, you get this like weird mesh mask that's molded after your face"
