Air Bites: The Future of Open Source Data Management
Air bite is an open source data management tool that's being developed by flow Daxter and DBT. It can be used to integrate with a number of different types of systems including Kafka streams, click stream input or even databases. The company has been working on making the upgrade path easier for users as well as providing more visibility into what's going on in the system. They're also looking at ways to make it work better with Kubernetes - they've got an alpha version right now but there are many others coming soon.

Data integration is a critical piece of every data pipeline, yet it is still far from being a solved problem. There are a number of managed platforms available, but the list of options for an open source system that supports a large variety of sources and destinations is still embarrasingly short. The team at Airbyte is adding a new entry to that list with the goal of making robust and easy to use data integration more accessible to teams who want or need to maintain full control of their data.
