Rabbi means great, much mani in hebrew. Whelli it does continue to develop its kind of a and in some ways, may be still developing. Also, awere before, it's all about sacrifices, its all about rituals in a temple. But now that you move towards more text base worship, now you fthis new emerging class, this new group of people who can teach the text and explain the text and interact of the text in a masterful way. And that's really what this idea of rabbi comes from.
