The Role of Emotions in Anti-Government Protests
Rit tathatis: I want to spend time reflecting on the methodology you used, especially your field interviews. Because throughout the book, you recognized the importance of the emotional or affective dimensions of the mobilization chain. And yet, in your methodological note, which is really fascinating, you mention that it was hard to surface the emotional dimensions of protests because your respondents from burce were keen to present themselves as reasonable political actors and not necessarily emotional actors. So how did you address this challenge? Yat, this was really a challenge indeed. But for for many interviewes, they showed very little emotion about this decision making process.
