What Does It Mean to Be Justified?

Paul says that a person is not justified by works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ. The word "prosperity" is frequently used in the Old Testament to refer to people and God in their relationship. It's a legal background to this, but not in the same kind of way as you might think about legal law courts.
