The Importance of a Family History of the Holocaust
The author is one of many people who the product of political refugees in his case, crucially people who came from Europe during the Nazi era. His mother escaped with her family on a trawler but none of them did come and essentially all their family was killed in the Holocaust. The lessons he learned are that civilization is fragile and if you lose the confidence of the people or a big chunk of the people they are likely to choose radical outsiders.
