The Capacity of Autonomy in Chimpanzees

The capacity of autonomy sits at a higher level or is like sort of conceptually prior to the other capacity. I think that this is why some people are worried about the mother infant interactions as examples of potential moral behavior. If these are hardwired or biologically prepared in a or whatever you want to call it and not under autonomous control, then you didn't choose them. That's where we would depart. And yet it's a very complex issue and it's definitely up for philosophical debate. It's part of the work that needs to be done.
