How to Use Visual Metaphors to Uncover Pain
I often use, I think one of the best things that I use on courses with patients, but also with clinicians, is a piece of A1 paper. Shine-Borne and Smith once said that metaphors are safe bridges. So, again, when we're using visual metaphors from magazines and asking them to write things down as a group, you start to uncover all sorts of you and veil unhidden meanings or reasons for why they've got their paint.
