Parsley-Induced Photosensitivity in Ostriches and Ducks
In 1988, researchers published a paper in the journal Avian Pathology titled Parsley-induced Photosensitivity in Ostrich's and Ducks. It was based on a case of conjunctivitis that had affected young and adult ostrich's at an ostrich farm in Israel. And it turned out that dry ground parsley from an Eerl-Rive vegetable factory had gotten mixed in with the hay that they feed to the ostriches. When that was taken away from their diet, the symptoms cleared up.
