The Role of Fox News in the Media Complex
I don't think there's a real chance of any kind of self-regulation as long as there's still an audience demand for this kind of stuff. I mean, it really is that news outlets are treated like any other form of entertainment and they're looking for ratings. Those are the incentives they have. It used to be that they thought they'd get ratings by being the most respected name in news. Now it's just whatever gets eyeballs.
