All the men were drafted into the war. They all performed in concert partiesa, providing entertainment for the troops. It was female impersonation, and they were very firm on that. The book took ten years to research, write, edit and get to the bookshelves. And when i was interviewing harold robinson, he would scold me if I used the word gay.
