Jim collins says in his book, ten exers, or successful companies as what he refers to any. Successful companies are bold and inevative, but only when the evidence supports such a tactic. Apple is one of the last mobile companies to do this. They maye the innovation leap only when they were ready. And now when they did it, they actually implemented it better than every other company. So innovation makes sense as long as it actually cashes the checks it writes.
