If there are no violations of individual rights, it's basically a free country and there's no slavery there. You don't go to war over that. There might be reason to have discussions about unification. But there's no reason to go to war unless you're going to war to remedy a rights violation,. In this case, the rights violation of your own citizens who happen to live in the South. So it's model to go towar when the regime you're going against is illegitimate because of the extent to which they're violating rights.
