I think we often the hunger. For us, growing up as young aspirational parts of this new, modernizing indiaand modernity was a big thing. I found tragic that people either separate indian writing in english from translations. That's not how i read. And you shouldn't feel ashamed about not reading in your local language. At some point they don't like going back to being learners, but it is one of the greatest joys of your life. How his reading in them changed me. Inexorably. Give these things enough time and enough political force and money behind them. What we're in danger of in this country is choking off the tiny streams you see
