Also, hollywood became a much bigger deal during the depression. So i think that comes through more contemporary work by writers like chimamanda gosa, adiciean. You'll see the influence of nigerian fashion or japanese fashion. It's just become this landscape where people can find themselves in in e fashion somewhere - even if it's not on the paris runways.
