The Immaterial Element of Human Life

What are some of the key passages talking, or giving us some concept of ontology and what scripture says about how the human being is made up? That's a difficult question because it depends on who's reading and who's reading. A couple Old Testament scholars read through the Old Testament and more than a couple now I say, well, breath is not soul, it's like the life principle. The bigger argument I would make personally for there being some immaterial element to human life is the resurrection bond.
