The Learning Curve Between VIM and Emacs

The learning curve between VIM and Emacs was pretty comparable. I really didn't have a sense of how much power there was until I read practical VIM by Drew Neil which for anybody who uses VIM and wants to get better at it. It's all these nubbins and bits of functionality that are bound to various keystrokes with them. Real power lies in the ability to edit text at a level of efficiency that is just kind of mind-boggling but you might do it with something different like keyboard macro or maybe some custom elis for something.
