Venture capitalists are getting the blame from a lot of quarters for the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank last week. The reason is that some funds began to advise their portfolio companies to potentially diversify or remove funds. That very quickly crystallized into a bank run, says FT's venture capital correspondent George Hammond.

The collapse of Silicon Valley bank rattled global markets, investors continue to worry about banks, US regional banks were hit hard by a sell-off, and venture capitalists are pointing fingers at each other for their role in the bank run on SVB that precipitated its demise.
