Are We Listening to Our Hearts?

LZ Granderson: We don't listen to our hearts much more efficiently or attentively than anyone else, along with all the other coats and hats that we try to wear. He says Jesus' invitation to us was, come to me if you know you are thirsty. If we're not in touch with the longings of our heart, that invitation doesn't really mean a thing, he adds. LZ: To recover the story though, it may be necessary for us to take a pilgrimage, one that even leaves behind parts of the religion that we've grown so comfortable with over the years.
