Do You Use Heparin in Pregnancy?

You can certainly use heparin particularly if you've got a pulmonary embolus that you want to treat acutely. And so the goal standard is the unfractionated heparin drip and your goal is to get a PTT of 1.5 to 2 and a half times normal. Now if it's for therapy and you want to set a patient home or use more use of dosing you can do noxaparen with BID dosing milligram per kilogram. If you're on preventative low-venox you said you have to wait 12 hours. That's correct yes. So we'll lie in pregnancy.
