The report catalogs over 600 direct cases of transnational repression. This isn't new, but what seems to be different now is the thing that's most different about all of our lives: digital technology. They know where you are from your public postings on social media or in other platforms. They can find you through surveillance much more easily than they used to be able to. And so we think that's kind of the biggest shift probably that's happened in recent years.
