Lafayette and the Erie Canal

Lafayette and his companions were on their way to visit all 24 states. Their ship ran aground in the Ohio River near Louisville, Kentucky. They spent a night beside huge bonfires as they attempted to dry off and stay warm. Lafayette made it back to Boston just in time for the Bunker Hill celebrations.
