The Hedonic Treadmill

Poverty is not an absolute concept, it's a relative concept. If i reach 30 thousand dollars a year, i'm not poor any more. I think about the hedonic treadmill as onela tion that may never end. And so one argument about this kind of increasing wealth is that it's just going lead to this kind of hedonic treadmill where everybody's disconsoaty, i got to have a bigger house.
