Sadhara Dean Dashtaki says there is no difference between God and other things as merely existent. For Dawani, this means that whatever dependent reality they have is due solely to God's presence in them,. In themselves, they do not exist at all, because unlike God, their essences are neutral with respect to existence.Dashtaki identifies a Sufi flavor to Dawani's argument, according to which God is somehow unified with all things - insofar as his presence to them makes them exist.
