This chapter examines the differences between abstract and organic movements, focusing on the emergence of authentic grassroots efforts that can create substantial change. Historical examples, such as the Black and women's liberation movements, are discussed to illustrate the unexpected nature of their growth and the challenges in identifying genuine initiatives.
