A lot of the things that companies use to judge engineers are kind of like proxies. Whato don't want there in what i used to see a lot in my consulting travels is somebody who is toxic. If you're in an organization with a thousand engineers, but you know, take engineer number 563, how much a does that person help the company's bottom line? It's pretty much unknowable.
