Long Muscle With Short Muscle Longenings

With long with short muscle length training, I would typically include it for a few different reasons. Some people just like either doing a full range of motion or let's say long muscle lengths turn out to be really important. Where do you stand on the potential benefit of metabolic stress? And if that is enhanced by going short? I'm open to it. But there hasn't been very much evidence looking at metabolic stress directly when doing it at short muscle length.
