In spanish you would say nosotros, yes. In english we've got to think, is it the subject? Is it the object? So on my answer, i said, we're ready. But i preceded it before it with the word us. O the wor us merely gives emphasis that i'm talking about me and my partner. Even though it's not really an object, you have to use the object form for emphasis.
