Is It Right to Course in August and White?

I just don't think it's right to course in August and white. And I also think as a doctor of the church, it's probably not a straight-eyed either. The idea that you can only engage with art or text that reflects your experience is clearly not a viable way to approach academic work. We learned so much by talking about racialized conceptions of Europe which were structured by anti-Semitism. It evokes a really interesting conversation about the relationship between race and labor - how particular racialized people get tracked into forms of labor that become racialized and racializing.
