The Importance of Narrative
In Du Bois book black reconstruction his last chapter is called the propaganda of history which indicates to me that he knew the importance of narrative and how imperative it is to take control of it. Historians have been at the forefront of this one of the consequences of this loss-caused narrative that we are still arguing over today Are Confederate monuments but even as far back as 1935 Du Bois understood the power of statues.
