i have text messages from my mid twentys sister and my late 80 s grandfather. My grandfather's the one using short forms and half finished sentences. He learnt to do telegrams in the war, so he's used to really shortened forms. Whereas my sister uses a swipe keyboard, so it's easier for her to use standard language. So you get the inverse of what people generally presume happens across generations. And even kids saying, well, i heard this from david cristol, who'd been talking to some high school kids, and they saidle, we don't use these text isn't any more,. because that's what our parents do.
