How Do Animals Survive Longer?

Life history theory suggests that animals have to make trade offs with their energy budgets. And for a lot of species, the reproduction trade off they make is quantity versus complexity. For example, frogs will lay something like six to 20 thousand eggs in one season. The female frog really leaves them largely unprotected to just develop patch and then continue as tadpoles. This allows her to have more reproductive sessions throughout her life.
