Is There a Cognitive Bias in Personal Decisions?

I often think I have good decisions and I have bad decisions that I can think on. There's such a strong bias towards that sort of near term bias. We understand we discount the future. Things that are near term are more real to us. So engaging your metacognition might help you understand why don't, why do you regret that decision?
