How to Deal With Grief
"I hate photos, she frowns. If father never listened to anything I said, it's a whole reason we're even here," says the photographer of his parents' photo shoot. The room transforms into a forest of pink flowers, petals, falling, grass at our feet. My mom's face is unreadable, guarded. She opens her palm to catch one of the falling petals and then frowns as it disappears. This is the only way she knows how to deal with grief, drowning it in anger before it could drown her. How? He was like a meditating stone, waiting for her to calm down so they could get into the real crux of a problem
