The Underlying Reality Is More Interesting Than the Story

i love stories because i think they're a useful way of explaining, a useful way getting people interested. But for me, the underlying reality is more interesting than the story. A map only shows you where you want to go to go, rightouma? And look at a map, most of it's like, really vague. Why?
