The Importance of Hardware in Brain Function
David Deutsch: There's no strict distinction between hardware and software if you're using logic circuits. He says we could imagine that some brains have problems with the chemistry or maybe problems with the physical makeup of the neurons due to, I don't know, malnutrition or something like that. The same algorithm on one brain could be far less efficient on one brain than another because it has to keep restarting. But this isn't really the same as saying, Hey, if you've got better hardware, you're smarter. Better hardware doesn't necessarily make you all smarter.
