Americans spent 38% less time with friends and relatives over the Thanksgiving weekend in the past two years than they had a prior a decade prior. Social media, political polarization and new technologies all played a role in the drop. The absolute decline among Americans ages 15 to 19 is staggering relative to 2010 to 2013. And reason why that's so shocking is because of all age groups, teenagers spend the most time with friends.
