The Problem With Modern Communication

I enjoyed connecting with people a lot more during this experiment. I really do think modern communication culture sucks because of the norms that we have around it. We spend over 13 hours every day looking at screens, which drowns out very little opportunity for genuine connection after that point. If there was an alternative way of connecting with people that I love and care about that didn't involve any of these trade-offs and sacrifices and was a genuine improvement over what came before, I would switch to that in a heartbeat. But it's just not realistic to go to a flip phone in 2023.
