What Is Your Background in APIs?

The term originated probably in the 60s in the mainframe right and then I know my my first the first APIs I was writing to were on the tandem platform which is now like non-stop platform with really deep deep code. Now in general we talk about API we're talking about webAPI and you know even those though have evolved so that became a big deal. The explosion there really happened around the mobile when mobile hit the scene because then it's actually all the services behind those apps that make them really valuable.
