The primary outcome of neck, moderate to severe BPD or death at 36 weeks occurred in 46% in the expectant management group and 63% in the early ibuprofen group with an absolute risk difference of minus 17 percentage points. The main limitation of the paper is that they didn't meet the goal for enrollment. It's possible this discrepancy can be explained by the high percentage of infants who received open label treatment in PDA trials.
