Ringelblum and the Polish Underground

One of the men who ran a Jewish hideout in Warsaw was having an affair, which angered his wife. An informer led the Gestapo to the hideout on March 7, 1944. They were taken to the Paviak prison and Ringelblum tried to save himself by bribing guards for him to be put into another cell. But when he saw that they had tortured him, "my heart is breaking when I look at my little boy," he said. The next day, all of the Jews and two of the Poles involved in this hideout were shot right in front of the prison.
