Introduction

Aristotle wrote works on ethics and politics. If you look at contemporary scholarship or discussion of the nick makian ethics, you will find almost nothing on friendship. The love that exists between friends has been marginalized with an contemporary ethical thought. And so there's a question about why that is. My hypothesis is that the neglect of friendship isn't a reflection of some deep, important analysis of it as sub philosophical but really a reflection of our culture.
