Once the disturbed energy patterns are packaged and stored in the heart, they are basically inactive. All the samskara's you have collected over your life are stored there. It is these impressions that encrust the valve of the spiritual heart. That incrustation builds up and restricts the energy flow. If they build up sufficiently, you will find yourself in a state of depression.
