Politicians seem to believe that their personal voting record is going to be the thing that really affects crucially their reelection chances. The footnotes take up like 90% of some of the pages and they include figures in them so you're right I mean it's sort of displaced from the text but not in the way that we're accustomed to seeing when we talk about politics.
