The Dangers of Dystopic Thinking
We all have this utopian urge to think that with the right inputs, we could get better outputs. We're deeply sympathetic to it when we see it in something like 1984 by Orwell or Brave New World by Huxley. I only thought it was dangerous after I studied it for 20 years. So I don't expect people upon first blush to come to my conclusion. But I do think my conclusion is cracked.
