How to Love Children's Play
Everything a child cannot yet understand whips the brain. The brain is thoroughly beaten in a terrible way. When we want to lovingly guide children's play, we must be clear about how much of their inner, developed mental strengths are called on. In this sense, our entire civilization sees things in the wrong way. Our society has, for example, created a form of animism. A child is hurt by bumping into a table and then responds by striking it back. People would say that the child has rendered the table alive through imagination. But this is not how it works.
