The Battle of Megara
Herodotus reports that the Persian army numbered 350,000 at this point. The modern scholars believe that the Greeks and Persians probably possessed the same-sized forces in the upcoming battle. Mardonius finally realized that the Athenians weren't going to ally with him, so he turned his backup plan: demolish Athens once again.
