Roy Bates declared Roughs Tower or Ceeland his own. The British government were not so happy with this and told him to vacate the premises. By 1966 the pirates were operating 11 stations around UK, four of them from ports in Richland's estuary. Two were demolished after the war, four remain derelict androughs is alone inhabited.
