The Importance of Human Factors in Economic Justice
I feel like that old Gramsci line where the old is dying and the new hasn't yet been born is just so relevant to this moment. Right now, most Democrats and most Republicans believe that poverty is a result of unfair circumstances. So a lot of the old tired cliches about poverty, they are dying. They're alive in Washington. A lot of our electeds keep repeating them, but the American people have moved past them. And I think that we are searching for and striving for a better way, and we can feel it. We do to each other because we tolerate so much poverty in this line of dollars.
